The refill that keeps your blob's adventure going.
Your 10g pouch of laboratory-grade agar (bacteriological agar, purer and more reproducible than culinary agar) allows you to prepare approximately 25 Petri dishes of 90 mm, with a 4 mm thick agar layer. Enough to keep observing without having to buy a whole new kit.
4-step recipe
- Pour 1.5 g of agar into 100 mL of boiling water — i.e., a 1.5% agar, the standard for Physarum
- Stir until completely dissolved
- Pour into the Petri dish to a depth of 4 mm
- Let cool for 15-20 min → the gel should be firm to the touch, moist but with no free water
Airtight pouch, 2-year shelf life.
Tip: prepare 2 extra dishes in advance and store them in the fridge in a zip-top bag. It will save you time for the next awakening.
